We’re joined by Livvy and Pokey’s brother, Dante, to talk about the early testing of Titanfall 2, playable on console, and how it’s changed since the original Titanfall. We also talk about news coming out of Gamescom 2016 about Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, and Star Citizen. We also discuss a game called Day of Infamy and Metal Gear: Survive.
You can see the new Overwatch short about Bastion here and details about the upcoming new map here. A preview of what’s coming soon to Heroes of the Storm can be found here.
Awesome (but incredibly lengthy) video of Star Citizen’s Alpha 3.0 preview can be found here.
Day of Infamy can be found on Steam Early Access.
And Dreis ShadowWeaver’s amazing post on the DUST 514 forums, What Your Weapon Says About You.
It’s available now on iTunes or you can find it at http://biomassed.net/podcast
I watched the Star Citizen trailer. I think that with Star Citizen they really are trying to raise the bar to a new level, and even if it never makes it to full release, it will have raised the bar. Basically they have a new set of exceptions of what they should be able to do, and as they figure out how to implement each of those expectations and prove it can be done, other game companies will attempt it as well. Ideally Star Citizen will lead the next generation of games, but even as a worst case scenario, Star Citizen will be a stepping stone for other games to reach a new level of integration and usher in the next generation of games.
Either way, I think Star Citizen will stake out a place in the History of video games.
That’s how I see it. Even if it fails, it will have been worth it for the attempt to do what they’re doing.
