Rise Again.
Today at the 2023 EVE Fanfest Opening Keynote, CCP Games announced the development of EVE: Vanguard, a tactical extraction shooter set in the EVE Online universe. This is the result of the previously unannounced shooter project that has been hotly anticipated by fans of CCP’s previously canceled shooter, DUST 514.
Vanguard is a continuation of the ongoing story of immortal soldier technology and how it fits into the New Eden universe. While Vanguard is thematically a sequel, it opts for a small squad resource gathering and extraction gameplay loop, as opposed to DUST’s two-team objective-based battles.
Public playtesting will be available December 2023 for all Omega EVE Online accounts. Further details will be revealed during the event, so expect ongoing coverage over the next few days.
Note: EVE: Vanguard is a different project compared to EVE: Legion and Project Nova; both were unreleased FPS projects that have since been canceled.
