Justin from Techaeris joins us to share his hands-on experience with the Vive demos at CES, and to talk about the Nintendo Switch. We also talk about our experiences as old school gamers and how gaming has catered differently to older enthusiasts.
Additional CES news this week included thefts from the convention, and Nintendo has announced more details about their latest console. Justin recommends Google’s Bohemian Rhapsody Experience if you have a VR headset for your Android phone.
Some of Nintendo’s biggest trailers this week include Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (for Bait, anyways), and Splatoon 2.
Jaysyn also recommend’s Wil Wheaton’s YouTube gaming series, TableTop.

Fantastic title. Always loved that show.
When I look way into the future and think about my golden years of retirement I realize that I will be more feeble and have difficulty getting out and socializing, so I expect to spend a lot of time playing MMO’s for social contact. Now, being feeble I will not be able to compete with teenagers in combat, but I will have a lot of time and experience, so I expect my golden years will consist of a lot of Guild/Corp administration.
Heck, I am already there now to some extent. In DUST I always maintained that I sucked in combat, but was one of the best Corporate administrators in the Game.
Hopefully there are some better MMO’s in my golden years though. We are in a strange time now where the big ones like WOW and EVE are over 10 years old, built around the limitations of last decade’s technology, evolved in some respects in visuals and other areas, but still limited. While the next generation of MMO’s, hinted at by Star Citizen, are not here yet and the hardware is not quite to where we need it to be to make that leap.
